African pastor claims he can cure cancer, HIV with ‘Doom’ spray

Lethebo Rabalago, a South African pastor at the Mount Zion General Assembly in Limpopo province near the border with Mozambique, is a self-proclaimed prophet, and he claims that he can cure people of cancer and HIV.

His method? Spraying Doom pesticide directly into the eyes of his congregation.

Tiger Brands, the company that produces Doom, is warning people against this method, saying its product was not intended to be sprayed anywhere near people, much less directly at them.

“It breaks my heart that our people are so desperate for change, they are so easily duped. Their vulnerability used against them. #Doom,” tweeted South African actress Boity Thulo.

Rabalago then clapped back at his critics on Facebook, writing, “People are so cruel. How can one insult a Prophet of God. Forgive them father for they do not know what they are doing.”

According to Rabalago, it is not the pesticide itself that cures people; it can only be a cure in his hands.

“Doom is just a name, but when you speak to it to become a healing product, it does. People get healed and delivered through doom,” reads a post on the Mount Zion General Assembly’s Facebook page.

Others have also posted to Facebook with testimonials of how they have been cured.
