Dak Prescott Gets Clowned After Jerry Jones Praises Him for Speaking Out Against Anthem Protests
First reported by TMZ Sports, Jones commended the star quarterback for his handling of the controversy surrounding players who kneel during the national anthem — a practice started by former footballer Colin Kaepernick to protest racial injustice in America.
“I’m so proud of him,” Jones said of Prescott, 24. “[I’m] just proud of him, the way he leads the team … for not letting it mess with their practices.”

Fans recently accused Prescott of being in the “sunken place” when he spoke out against the protests just days after Jones said he would require all players to stand for the anthem — despite NFL rules saying players have the right to remain in the locker room.
“I don’t think that’s the time or the venue to do so,” Prescott said of the on-field protests. ”… So when you bring such a controversy to the stadium, to the field, to the game, it takes away. It takes away from the joy and the love that football brings a lot of people.”
The pat on the back from Jones only fueled the blowback from Prescott’s remarks, as critics took to social media to clown him for tap dancing for the man.
“Jerry’s Boom Boom Room: Stand Up for this Anthem, before I whip yo ass!” one person commented, jokingly.
“DAK JUST KISSING ASS,” another person wrote.

One fan spoke on behalf of the Black delegation, saying, ” … we would like to trade Dak Prescott for Aaron Rodgers.”
“As the commissioner of the white delegation I will have to block this trade as we will much prefer two boxes of Popeyes chicken with biscuits and 5 filled to the brim glasses of water,” another user chimed in.
They eventually settled on a deal.
