Fallen Baton Rouge officer’s call for peace Nine days before Montrell Jackson was killed, he urged, ‘Please don’t let hate infect your heart’

Montrell Jackson, 32, was a 10-year veteran of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Police Department who was one of three police officers gunned down and killed on Sunday. His Facebook post on July 8 that mourned the deaths of fellow Baton Rouge resident Alton Sterling and five Dallas police officers and expressed his distress at the current divisions in the country went viral after his death.
