Four-Year-Old “Superhero” Feeds the Homeless

With great power, comes great responsibility, and there’s a 4-year-old superhero in Alabama who’s literally taking up the duty to do good and feed the homeless in his city.

Austin Perine, is a pint-sized crusader from Birmingham who has found his calling and he’s using his super power to fight hunger, reports CBS News.

“President Austin” as he likes to be called, is saving the day—sandwich by sandwich.

“That’s his idea of what the president is supposed to do,” said TJ Perine, Austin’s father. “I was like, buddy, you have no idea, but hey, I’m going along with it.”

His dad said Austin saw a show about Pandas and when the momma abandoned the baby, it sparked curiosity in little Austin. He asked his dad what it meant to be homeless.

“He says, ‘What’s homeless?’ I said, ‘It’s when you don’t have a home and sometimes you don’t have mom or dad around,’” said TJ.

Austin kept probing his dad about homelessness and asked him if people were homeless too.

That conversation left such an indelible impression on Austin that he took up the homeless cause and transformed into a caped champion of justice.

TJ said Austin decided that instead of buying toys, he’d rather save up his allowance money to go toward chicken sandwiches for homeless people.

Also with the help of his father TJ, he has set up a PayPal account “to go global with feeding the homeless.”

His humanitarian efforts have also caught the eye of his city leaders and Austin received the key to the city in Mobile, Alabama. Austin is also the cousin of Redskins running back Samaje Perine.

Austin not only spends his time distributing those sandwiches, he peppers people with some sage advice: “Don’t forget to show love.”

This kid is definitely going places.
