Tommie Lee Heads Back to Jail After Pleading Guilty to DUI

Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Tommie Lee is sentenced to serve two days behind bars after being charged with driving under the influence in 2016.

The reality star was initially facing two years in jail after pleading guilty to a DUI and driving without headlights on. Lee’s plea deal arranged for her to serve only two days in jail, TMZ reported.

In January of 2016, Lee was pulled over by Georgia State Patrol and was manhandled. She claimed it was police brutality, but officers said Lee refused to step out of the car and was taken down to the police station. Officers said Lee was driving with an expired license and also slurring her words.

The “Imma Get It” rapper comes from a troubled past and revealed her struggles with excessive drinking. During season 7 of “LHHATL” Lee explained to a substance abuse expert that “alcoholism runs deep” in her family. She added that alcohol helps her “cope with a lot of things going on” in her life.

“I don’t really have support. To deal with the thoughts of my mom, not liking me, hating me and the stress that I’m going through with my brothers and sisters like how big my heart is and open to everybody– they don’t feel the same way about me so that kinda like hurts,” Lee expressed.

Fans assumed that Lee’s trouble with law enforcement was over and done with after her ankle monitor was removed in August. The 34-year-old recorded the entire removal process and said, “Today is the day I say goodbye to my little friend.” Lee added, “I pray I never ever experience this typa embarrassment again in life.”

Lee was ordered to wear the SCRAM Continuous Alcohol Monitoring device around her ankle due to pending cases. She wasn’t allowed to consume any alcohol until her cases are finalized.

The reality star is scheduled to spend her two days in Fulton County Jail towards the end of September. She’s also been ordered to complete 40 hours of community service and be evaluated for drug and alcohol treatment. She’ll be on probation for the next 12 months.
