Trump on being POTUS: ‘I thought it would be easier’

President Donald Trump recently sat down with Reuters for an interview, and it seems like he’s starting to regret winning the election after all.

“I loved my previous life. I had so many things going,” Trump lamented, speaking of his previous work as a real estate mogul and reality television personality. “This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier.”

For example, one of the more difficult parts of the job has to be foreign relations, and with North Korea posturing over the possibility of nuclear war, Trump admitted, “There is a chance that we could end up having a major, major conflict with North Korea. Absolutely.”

Joe Biden regrets not being POTUS: ‘I think I could have won’ —

“We’d love to solve things diplomatically but it’s very difficult,” he added.

As to dealing with Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, Trump said, “He’s 27 years old. His father dies, took over a regime. So say what you want but that is not easy, especially at that age. I’m not giving him credit or not giving him credit, I’m just saying that’s a very hard thing to do. As to whether or not he’s rational, I have no opinion on it. I hope he’s rational.”

In the same interview, Trump praised Chinese President Xi Jinping for trying to help with the situation in North Korea and rebuffed the idea that he would make overtures to Taiwan, which China considers to be a rogue state belonging to China.

“My problem is that I have established a very good personal relationship with President Xi,” said Trump. “I really feel that he is doing everything in his power to help us with a big situation. So I wouldn’t want to be causing difficulty right now for him.”
